ToBeScene’s Aldo Erdic has been invited on board as guest director for the feature film documentary The Last Pogo Jumps Again, Chacha Cha Cha. The film is by Colin Brunton who produced and directed the original Last Pogo film in 1978 (and then went on to successfully produce films like Roadkill, Highway 69, Hedwig & The Angry Inch, Cube). Colin’s film will tell the story of not only what the various band members have been up to for the past couple of decades, but will also share recollections of people in the audience, promoters, photographers, and even the cops who broke up the riot after the 1978 show.
Aldo and the ToBeScene team will be filming a variety of live performances as many of these legendary bands reunite to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Toronto punk scene. Here is one such performance by the Viletones, playing “Screaming Fist” during a CIUT radio session (89.5 FM), featuring original singer Steven Leckie, John Borra from A Neon Rome and Change of Heart on bass, Kurt Schefter from the Raving Mojos on guitar and Cleave Anderson from Blue Rodeo and the Battered Wives on drums.
